Escape Game Production
Great Lakes Scenic Design developed three immersive escape game environments—Arctic, Space, and Wild West—over a three-year partnership with Sixty to Escape.

The Situation
Over a three-year partnership, Great Lakes Scenic Design worked with Sixty to Escape to develop three immersive escape game environments each with distinct themes: Arctic, Space, and Wild West. One new attraction was produced each year as Sixty to Escape expanded its location-based entertainment offering.
Each game required a completely distinct environment while sharing the same fundamental challenge. Large, highly immersive scenic worlds needed to be fabricated off-site, transported by truck, moved through standard commercial doorways, and efficiently installed within the operating attraction.

The Solution
GLSD developed a modular fabrication approach that allowed approximately 1,500 square feet of scenic environment to break down into transportable wall and architectural components. Scenic fabrication was integrated with projection mapping, televisions, practical lighting, and interactive elements to create immersive environments that extended beyond traditional escape room construction.
For Wild West, GLSD helped realize an especially ambitious concept: a single scenic environment capable of supporting two distinct game experiences. Depending on the game being played, guests encounter different puzzles, pathways, and hidden rooms within the same physical set, creating two unique experiences from one environment.

The Outcome
Across three years, the program delivered three distinct attractions while establishing a repeatable approach for transporting and installing increasingly ambitious scenic environments.
For GLSD, the program demonstrates how thoughtful scenic engineering can transform complex attraction concepts into durable and transportable environments without sacrificing immersion or guest experience.
